When two hearts meet after a lifetime of looking for each other, they connect like streams joining in a single river. At that moment, though, only the two of them can see their journey – the winding path those streams have taken, springing at first from near each other, only to wind around the world, finally looping back to bring them together. These two were born and raised in nearby cities, but their paths never crossed when they were growing up. After high school, her journey would take her far away to Notre Dame – and his would take him to the other side of the world as he served in the military.
It seemed that their paths couldn’t be farther apart… But fast forward a few years, and life had taken a magical twist. They had both dedicated themselves to lives of service. She had completed her training as a nurse and begun her career in medicine, and he had completed his military service and begun his career as a firefighter and paramedic. One holiday season their paths finally crossed, and they soon realized they had met their missing piece. A year later, on Christmas eve, he popped the question to the girl of his dreams…
Meet Stephanie and Adam.
The bride started her day with a sweet message and gift from the groom.
Stephanie filled her day with pops of red color, roses, and details…
Love this moment with the bride and her two adoring flower girls!
Matt was with Adam to get some shots of him getting ready.
These ring bearers are too cute!
The wedding was held at Christ the King Catholic Church…the same church where the bride’s parents got married over 30 years ago.
Stephanie and Adam waited to see each other, but decided to share a prayer before the ceremony. It was a beautiful and emotion filled moment.
The bride shared a first look with her father…walking down the same aisle her mother walked down. It was one of the sweetest first looks we’ve seen!
Love these little special moments!
The classical feel of this wedding was perfect for the beautiful cathedral and surroundings…
Before the sun went down, the bride and groom got away for a few minutes, and these photos of the newlyweds at sunset are some of my favorites.
Love how happy these two are!
At the end of the night, the couple shared a final private dance. It was a perfectly romantic ending to the day…
Stephanie and Adam,
We are so happy for you two! We are elated that you found each other, and that you are starting out this adventure of marriage! We hope that you share many years of happiness and that your wedding always brings you the best of memories. Cheers to a lifetime of bliss! -Matt and Ivy
A special thanks to our good friend Marc Roberts who did the videography for this wedding. Here’s a special cinematic treat from him:

Wedding Day Story from the Bride:
The day, just like EVERYONE told us it would, was over in what seemed like 2 seconds! I actually slept amazingly well the night before, woke up well rested, and began my day by reflecting on our amazing journey thus far and writing Adam his letter. The day itself was smooth, and besides one minor hiccup- couldn’t have gone better- it flowed very well. I remember really enjoying the getting ready process with my mom, my bridal party, and Adam’s mom and sister. I felt so calm and so at peace all morning because I knew this man is exactly who I was meant to be with and that this was God’s plan. I felt so beautiful in my dress- better that I could have dreamed and I didn’t want to take it off!
When we got to to the church I still felt really calm and relaxed, but I could feel the golden hour was approaching! It meant the world to me that I could do a first look with my dad and share that special moment with just him- in the middle of the aisle in the same church my parents got married 34 years ago. It seems like yesterday we were playing dress-up/fake wedding in my parents living room when my dad was my pretend groom! The moment it got real was when Adam & I grabbed each others hand outside the church- around the corner from each other- not seeing the other person. Adam began to pray and to cry and I couldn’t hold it together anymore. The moment was incredible! But, my absolutely FAVORITE and most memorable part of the entire day was the moment I locked eyes with Adam when I saw him for the first time at the end of the aisle. I will never forget the way he was looking at me, I will never forget his smile, and I will never forget that feeling inside me. Adam said that was his favorite moment of the day too, to see me at the end of the aisle walking towards him. At that very moment, the last 31 years of my life flashed before my eyes and I knew that THIS was what life was all about.
Our reception looked just like we had envisioned. We wanted classic, timeless, and romantic. We wanted beautiful flowers and tons of candles, and for our guests to relax, let loose and have a great evening out! I think we accomplished that. From our awesome dances, to our cake cutting, our time alone on the golf course with the sunset to our last dance alone and our sparkler exit. It was everything we dreamed and more, and far exceeded our expectations!
