Many young girls dream of the perfect wedding they will have one day. There is a gorgeous dress, the pretty flowers, and all the details that make a fairy tale dream come true. For most girls imagining that wedding day, there’s one detail they will have to wait on until much later: finding out who that special guy will be. But not every fairy tale wedding comes together the same way. Every now and then a fairy tale starts when a girl meets that special guy at the very beginning of the story, when a couple of teenagers start falling for each other and become inseparable. Time keeps going as the story of life is spun around them, and the day finally comes when they write the first chapter of the next volume of life together. When that day finally arrived for these two, through a last-minute turn of the elements, one of the most touching weddings turned even more magical – they got to marry each other twice.
Meet Heather and Dale.
When you see these two together, you might mistake them for a couple of lovebirds on a first date. The giggles, the kisses, the excitement in their eyes when they see each other – only multiplied by the love they’ve grown in a nearly fourteen year long romance. It seems only fitting that the ceremony they had waited so long to have would come twice. How did this happen? A special combination of a lovely outdoor garden, Texas weather, and special vows shared in the close company of only Heather and Dale’s closest friends…
The day started for Heather at Salon Pompeo where the girls got ready.
Heather was one of the sweetest and calmest brides!
Love this gorgeous Justin Alexander gown, and Badgley Mischka shoes…
The bridesmaids helped Heather get ready.
The gorgeous ladies!
Dale got ready at The Fairmont Hotel…
Love this shot! Happy groom + groomsmen…
The bride and groom decided to do a first look, and it was so sweet! Honestly, how many girls dream of their guys reacting like this when they see them in their wedding gown?
Oh, and of course, Dale couldn’t take his eyes off his beautiful bride and her stunning gown!
These two are seriously adorable. They planned plenty of time for photos of just the two of them, and we’re so glad they did! I think they make the camera happy. Really. : )
A favorite of 2013.
How cute are these flower girls?! Love!
The weather was beautiful as the ceremony started…
Marty, from LoveNotes, officiated a beautiful ceremony.
Right before the bride and groom could exchange their vows, it started to rain. Knowing that guests, video equipment, photo gear, sound, and speakers, would soon be drenched, the minister sped through the ring exchange and the I Do’s, in what would be the fastest ceremony of the year!
After waiting 13 years for a garden wedding, and having written beautiful vows that were stopped by the rain, the bride and groom were still elated to have tied the knot.
After the ceremony, Heather and Dale, along with their bridal party were rushed off into a side building to avoid the rain. In that unforgettable moment, Marty chose to officiate Heather and Dale’s second wedding. Just the two of them. Surrounded by their closest friends and sharing the vows they had not gotten to say outside in the rain. This was one of the most beautiful ceremonies to date – and their incredibly moving vows? Well, they brought almost everyone in the room to tears.
A rose ceremony…
The kiss! Married for the second time in one day! : )
The reception was beautiful…love all of the details.
A favorite photo…
Love when the bride and groom’s parents join the fun and show off some moves! : )
…And when the bride and groom take the floor!
The guys really went for the garter…with an epic catch by the best man!
The grand exit to bubbles…
So elated at the end of the night! Love this moment, sharing a final kiss in the elevator…
Heather and Dale,
You guys are truly amazing! We’ve loved getting to know you all, and we won’t ever forget your kindness from the moment we met y’all! You both are perfect for each other. We wish you a lifetime of happiness, and wonderful memories!

Story from the Bride:
Dale and I have known each other for a couple of years before we started dating at 17. There was always a special connection and chemistry between us, and that is what carried us throughout our 13 years together. Time really does fly when you have so much fun with your first love and best friend! When it came down to planning our wedding, I knew it had to be an outdoor wedding. I wanted a shabby chic wedding with soft colors. Without a doubt the biggest splurges were the venue and the photography. An extraordinary amount of time and effort was put into this wedding and beautiful pictures are important to capture our special day!
