Love is like a magic recipe, where two lives come together to make something unexpected… something wonderful. But like any good recipe, it’s not just about having the right ingredients. The timing has to be just right, too. For these two, life gave them a little preview of what was to come, when their paths first crossed over seven years ago. Life kept moving forward and they went their separate ways, until their paths crossed again and they became inseparable. This time they knew it was forever.
Meet Brittani and Jay.
Seven years before, they had met. Two years ago, they had reconnected. One year ago, at a romantic drive-in theater beneath the Texas sky, he had proposed. And now, in the beautiful Pilgrim Chapel perched atop one of Dallas prettiest hills, they tied the knot.
The gorgeous dress…
Dallas Baptist University weddings are just gorgeous. A special thank you to Vivian Skinner, who coordinates the chapel weddings and cares for our DBU brides!
Brittani and Jay opted for a first look, and it was truly beautiful! One of the most scenically gorgeous and sweet moments we’ve seen.
The reception was filled with yummy cupcakes from Sugar Bee Sweets (love them!), and gorgeous details, and planning done by the bride and her mom.
Brittani and Jay ended the night in a sea of bubbles…a perfect sendoff.
Brittani and Jay,
Thank you for letting us be a part of your day! From the first time we met you, and you took cell phone pics to celebrate the moment, we knew y’all were going to be a fun couple! Your engagement session was even more fun than we could have imagined (guns and all)! We hope that every day of your future, as husband and wife, is filled with fun and sweet moments. Best wishes to you both for a lifetime of immeasurable fun!
Matt & Ivy
Story from the bride:
Jay and I first met April 20, 2007 from a mutual friend. On April 20, 2012 we walked back into each others lives through another mutual friend (one of Jay’s groomsmen). We knew right away that this was our second chance and we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. He had this whole big proposal that he wanted to do on April 20, 2013 but I had broken my foot a week earlier and the plans had altered. He asked me at the Ennis Drive-in movie theatre on April 26, 2013 and one year later was our set date.
For a good 10 months my mother, sister Taylor and I spent our Mondays off going to thrift and vintage shops gathering pieces for the wedding. All the pieces seen at the reception was “DIY” done by my mother. I couldn’t have put the wedding I envisioned without her help. She made it all possible.
“…it was a million tiny little things that, when you added them all up, they meant we were supposed to be together…”
