Tina and Raja’s marriage was a celebration of the blending of two cultures and two families. We spent two days photographing their love story, and a couple all-nighters trying to narrow down our favorite photos for the blog! : )
The first day of Tina and Raja’s celebration was the Mehndi Party, and the second day was the wedding ceremony. If you love culture and tradition, fun, food, and dancing, you will fall in love with Tina and Raja’s Mehndi party. The evening started at the Adolphus in Dallas, and we’ll start their story with some photos of the lovely bride.
At the start of the party, there was a cocktail hour where guests mingled and the ladies had their henna done.
Catering was done by India Palace Restaurant and it was AMAZING. We’re deeply indebted to the mother of the groom, who (after the evening was over) took us up to her hotel room and made sure that the photographers ate. She didn’t know that Indian food is one of my favorites, so it was the perfect treat to end our work day.
There were SO many gorgeous details, from decor to apparel, provided by the amazing Prashe Decor.
After the guests had eaten, the groom’s family began the ceremonies.
They started with the honoring of Raja.
Tina joined Raja on stage and she was honored as well.
The groom’s brother-in-law MC’d the ceremonies and he perfectly balanced the significance of the events with some moments of humor that kept everyone on their toes. : )
A dance was performed for the couple.
After the ceremony everyone wanted to congratulate the couple. We love this shot of the bride’s father speaking to them first.
The couple made their rounds and the congratulations continued, and gifts were given to the bride : )
Kids are adorable….and I couldn’t resist taking a photo of these two, relaxing right outside the doors of the ballroom.
DJ Riz was seriously awesome. He keep the energy high and everyone was on the dance floor. Really, everyone! : )
How awesome is this!? I think it’s one of my favorite groom dancing shots! Kudos to Matt for being 6’4″ and being able to take ridiculously amazing shots that I would totally need a ladder for. ; )
The dancing continued even when the heels had to go ; )
We’ll end with a portrait of the happy couple.
Day 2, Tina and Raja’s wedding, will be coming up soon on the blog. Check back in, because you will love all of the gorgeousness from the following day as well. : )
