Dallas Wedding Photographers: Mihi + Simon

When we met Mihi, she told us she wanted her wedding and Day After photos to have a vintage style. I was excited because I looooove vintage photos, and the thought of working with a bride who did too, was just fabulous!

Mihi and Simon make us smile. : ) They share a love that comes with quiet looks and sweet glances…shy kisses, and ready laughs. When you first meet Mihi and Simon, you think they are opposites. When you spend time with them, you realize that they share many things. They are both very kind and friendly people who love culture and their friends. They both come from loving families, and they are both strong Christians who wanted a wedding that reflected their love for each other, and their faith.

We think that their wedding at the Museum of Biblical Art, in Dallas, and featured on Style Me Pretty, was just that. : )

Once everyone was ready, we headed outside for some shots of the bridal party and the bride and groom. We love when our couples opt for a first look or photo walk, because it ensures that they will have enough time to get the images in the middle of a busy day. Simon and Mihi really planned out their day, and made sure they had enough time for photos. We think you’ll agree that taking the time was worth it! : )

We started with some shots of the ladies- look how pretty they are!  And check out  Mihi’s bouquet and the flowers of the bridal party. All florals were done by Robin and Katie over at Di Fiori – they’re just stunning!

Mihi and Simon opted to display some of their photos from their Bride and Groom session before the wedding. It was a mad rush to get them done in time, but the result was a huge hit at the reception!

Dallas Wedding Photographers: Mihi + Simon |Rehearsal Dinner| Benihana

Weddings are fun…but rehearsal dinners are the true start of the festivities! They’re the window into who and what our brides and grooms love.  So, it’s awesome when a couple chooses to document their rehearsal dinner as well as the wedding.

Mihi and Simon had their rehearsal at Benihana Japanese Restaurant. How cool is that!? Matt and I love Benihana’s, so we thought it was a great idea.

Here are some of the photos from the fun evening!

Dallas Wedding Photographers: Nicole + Brad |Engaged|

Hope everyone had a great Easter! We thought we’d start back to work by sharing a really fun + sweet engagement session with you.

Meet Nicole and Brad.

They contacted us from the northeast, and from our very first emails with them, we knew they were a special couple. Nicole and Brad are both medical students, and they’re each committed to helping people, and are about as down to earth as you can be. We were excited when they booked us for their wedding, and we couldn’t wait to meet this awesome couple!

So fast forward from last year, to a few weeks ago, and we were finally going to meet them on their engagement session. It’s crazy, but they were even more amazing than we’d imagined. Smart, funny, kind, playful, and ready to do whatever we suggested….talk about a dream client! : )

We started out the session in Deep Ellum, and we had to make a stop at Murray Street Coffee Shop where Nicole and Brad spent tons of hours studying and getting to know each other when they were students in Dallas. How sweet are these two?

Love makes me happy…and these photos do, too! : ) Nicole and Brad, congrats again, you guys are going to love being married!05 Nicole and Brad - Dallas Engagement Session - Photos by Ivy Weddings

Soooo…you know how you have inside jokes with your friends? Well, we have inside jokes with our brides and grooms. : ) The photo on the left is actually a candid capture of Nicole being, well… Nicole. We walked up to a wall and she found a hole. So…what do you do when you find a hole in a wall? If you’re a medical student, you probably try to figure out why it’s there. We caught her peeking, and Brad joined her in figuring out just why there was a random hole in a random wall. Not half as funny explained, but hey, inside jokes are always better for the person when you’re actually THERE. Yeah, so trust us, it was funny. ; )

Dallas Wedding Photographers: Ashley + Chris |Engagement Session|

Meet Ashley and Chris.

They are undeniably cute. Ashley actually contacted us for wedding photography at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately, we were already booked for the entire month of December, and her wedding. Sad day! As a bride, I was surprised when photographers I liked were booked out a year or more in advance, so we understood the madness of the search for a wedding photographer. ; )  We were excited when Ashley and Chris decided to do an engagement session with us though. Talk about fun! Seriously. They are just too cute and natural….have a look at some of their photos and I’m sure you’ll agree!

We’re working on Tina and Raj’s wedding at The Adolphus and we couldn’t help but sneak peek a few photos from their dances for you. The first photo is from their first dance as husband and wife…
