It’s in the little things that you find love.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! We’re so thankful for being blessed with amazing clients, and two of our very favorites are Arlene and Omar. We love pretty much everything about them and their gorgeous Aggie wedding!
Sometimes love finds you when you’re least expecting it. It would have made sense for Arlene and Omar to meet at Texas A&M University while they were both students there…but life and love don’t always work out the expected way. Sometimes it takes time, and it was actually a few years after graduating from A&M, in a different city, that they met each other, and those initial sparks flew. After dating and falling in love, Omar surprised Arlene with a romantic proposal on a trip to Barcelona, Spain.
If that’s not romantic enough, Omar designed Arlene’s engagement ring himself and fit it into a small ladybug box- why? Well, because Arlene loves ladybugs.
It’s definitely in the little things that you find love.
It doesn’t take a brain scientist to know that Arlene and Omar are perfect for each other. They just make sense. Together. : )
The wedding day started with a gorgeous morning in the heart of downtown Dallas.
The ladies got ready at the oh so fabulous Hotel Indigo.
Arlene’s gorgeous Martina Liana gown that she found at Lenz Boutique and her veil that she borrowed from her big sister, Annette.Â
I was in love with these red Nina shoes…
Arlene had her make up done talented Jenny Torry. She did fabulous!
It was a joy to photograph Arlene. She was definitely the most organized and relaxed bride I’ve seen! She glowed from the very beginning of the day.Â
I was in love with the bride and groom’s adorable niece and nephews…and I think they might have liked me, too. Or they thought I was funny for crawling around trying to get their picture. ; ) Â
Arlene accented her wedding bouquet with her grandmother’s vintage gold ring.Â
The bride’s elegant bouquet was done by Kristin Sutton.Â
I loved the sleek black bridesmaid’s dresses and shoes that Arlene chose. Definitely dresses that can be re-used!Â
How gorgeous is Arlene!? Special thanks to JTorry’s team for their lovely attention to her hair.
We think the world of Arlene’s mom! Â She is one of the sweetest ladies we’ve met. She was there on the morning of the wedding to make sure Arlene ate her breakfast and to help her put on her wedding gown. Â
Arlene, you are so beautiful! Inside and out. : )Â
These were just a couple of shots from her session at Hotel Nylo in Plano.
Omar got ready at the Hilton Garden Inn across town. The guys brought a hearty breakfast to the groom.Â
Matt was there to capture the first moments of Omar’s day, when he was opening his wedding gift from his bride.Â
Omar used to play with legos when he was a kid, wayyyy before he grew up to be an architect, and Arlene found her hubby-to-be the perfect wedding day gift: Lego cufflinks.Â
All the essentials for the guys getting ready!
The groom’s tux was from Al’s and Arlene found his cufflinks on Etsy.Â
Arlene and Omar had a beautiful wedding at St. Monica Catholic Church, in Dallas.Â
There were ladybug details and an adorable ring bearer.Â
Arlene’s mom walked her down the aisle.Â
It was a gorgeous ceremony. Shot taken from inside the choir loft.Â
LOVE the way Arlene looks at Omar!
A new favorite. Right before leaving the church, Arlene and Omar had a last kiss.Â
When Arlene and Omar contacted us, they told us they had a plan to kidnap their bridal party and take them all around town in a rented bus, taking photos in downtown Dallas before their evening reception. We’d never heard of an idea like this before, but we thought it was awesome! Â
There were tons of laughs in the bus, some snacks and, of course, lots of great music.Â
We stopped in the Dallas Arts District and got to get some shots.Â

Love this shot of the ladies. They’re all so gorgeous!Â
Had to get a shot of the groom, looking very handsome in his tux!
OK We had to do a shout out to all of the fabulous friends of Arlene and Omar. We LOVE LOVE LOVED this bridal party! They were some of the most fun and laid back group we’ve gotten to work with. Thanks for being so awesome ya’ll! : )Â
More props to the bridal party & the bride and groom for trusting us enough to go out in the middle of the street for a shot. ; )
The. Bus. Ride. Was. Fun. Oh and the toasts didn’t hurt either…Â
I teased Trent, the groomsman, for being my sidekick/second shooter through the day. If I had missed a shot, I’m sure he would have gotten it on his iphone. : DÂ
The reception was held in the Ballroom at the Dallas Arts Center, and it was stunning!Â
The wedding cake was designed by Delicious Cakes and it matched the design of the bride’s gown.Â
The single coolest A&M groom’s cake EVER was made by Frosted Art…and yes, it’s made out of “legos”!
The music was provided by DJ Connection.Â
We think everyone was as impressed as we were with the bride’s little nephew. His dancing was amazing!
The Aggie war hymn..Â
Before the evening was over, Arlene and Omar shared one last dance.Â
Arlene and Omar, thank you for sharing your magical day with us, and for inviting us to your rehearsal dinner! ; -) We think you are two of the nicest people we’ve met, and we wish you both all the happiness in the world. Para Siempre!
