An Aggie Wedding: Arlene + Omar

It’s in the little things that you find love.

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! We’re so thankful for being blessed with amazing clients, and two of our very favorites are Arlene and Omar. We love pretty much everything about them and their gorgeous Aggie wedding!

Sometimes love finds you when you’re least expecting it. It would have made sense for Arlene and Omar to meet at Texas A&M University while they were both students there…but life and love don’t always work out the expected way. Sometimes it takes time, and it was actually a few years after graduating from A&M, in a different city, that they met each other, and those initial sparks flew.  After dating and falling in love, Omar surprised Arlene with a romantic proposal on a trip to Barcelona, Spain.

If that’s not romantic enough, Omar designed Arlene’s engagement ring himself and fit it into a small ladybug box- why? Well, because Arlene loves ladybugs.

It’s definitely in the little things that you find love.

It doesn’t take a brain scientist to know that Arlene and Omar are perfect for each other. They just make sense. Together. : )

The wedding day started with a gorgeous morning in the heart of downtown Dallas.

It was a joy to photograph Arlene. She was definitely the most organized and relaxed bride I’ve seen! She glowed from the very beginning of the day.  07-Ivy Weddings- Aggie Wedding Photos- Dallas Wedding Photographers

I was in love with the bride and groom’s adorable niece and nephews…and I think they might have liked me, too. Or they thought I was funny for crawling around trying to get their picture. ; )   08-Ivy Weddings- Aggie Wedding Photos- Dallas Wedding Photographers

Arlene accented her wedding bouquet with her grandmother’s vintage gold ring.  09-Ivy Weddings- Aggie Wedding Photos- Dallas Wedding Photographers

How gorgeous is Arlene!? Special thanks to JTorry’s team for their lovely attention to her hair. 13-Ivy Weddings- Aggie Wedding Photos- Dallas Wedding Photographers

We think the world of Arlene’s mom!  She is one of the sweetest ladies we’ve met. She was there on the morning of the wedding to make sure Arlene ate her breakfast and to help her put on her wedding gown.   14-Ivy Weddings- Aggie Wedding Photos- Dallas Wedding Photographers

Omar used to play with legos when he was a kid, wayyyy before he grew up to be an architect, and Arlene found her hubby-to-be the perfect wedding day gift: Lego cufflinks.  18-Ivy Weddings- Aggie Wedding Photos- Dallas Wedding Photographers

When Arlene and Omar contacted us, they told us they had a plan to kidnap their bridal party and take them all around town in a rented bus, taking photos in downtown Dallas before their evening reception. We’d never heard of an idea like this before, but we thought it was awesome!   36-Ivy Weddings- Aggie Wedding Photos- Dallas Wedding Photographers

There were tons of laughs in the bus, some snacks and, of course, lots of great music.  37-Ivy Weddings- Aggie Wedding Photos- Dallas Wedding Photographers

We stopped in the Dallas Arts District and got to get some shots.  38-Ivy Weddings- Aggie Wedding Photos- Dallas Wedding Photographers

OK We had to do a shout out to all of the fabulous friends of Arlene and Omar. We LOVE LOVE LOVED this bridal party! They were some of the most fun and laid back group we’ve gotten to work with. Thanks for being so awesome ya’ll! : )  45-Ivy Weddings- Aggie Wedding Photos- Dallas Wedding Photographers

More props to the bridal party & the bride and groom for trusting us enough to go out in the middle of the street for a shot. ; ) 46-Ivy Weddings- Aggie Wedding Photos- Dallas Wedding Photographers

I teased Trent, the groomsman, for being my sidekick/second shooter through the day. If I had missed a shot, I’m sure he would have gotten it on his iphone. : D  48-Ivy Weddings- Aggie Wedding Photos- Dallas Wedding Photographers

The reception was held in the Ballroom at the Dallas Arts Center, and it was stunning!  49-Ivy Weddings- Aggie Wedding Photos- Dallas Wedding Photographers

The wedding cake was designed by Delicious Cakes and it matched the design of the bride’s gown.  50-Ivy Weddings- Aggie Wedding Photos- Dallas Wedding Photographers
