Austin Wedding Photographers: Amanda + Kris

Style Me Pretty - Cover Featured Wedding by Ivy Weddings

We are so excited that this gorgeous wedding is finally going up on the blog! After being featured on Style Me Pretty, you know this celebration was charming in more ways than we can count!

Taking place in the beautiful venue of Casa Blanca, the tone of the wedding was both country and chic. From the gorgeous outdoor ceremony and the lemon themed details, to the classic chauffeured car at the end of the night, the day was truly memorable.

When Amanda, on her father’s arm, took the first steps down the aisle toward her future husband, emotions boiled over and she exclaimed, “This is SO COOL!!!”  In that moment, we both joined the guests in laughter at the pure excitement in her statement. The bride’s joyful entrance is only one example of the heartfelt and sincere moments that would define Kris and Amanda’s big day.

We always say that we have the best brides and grooms, but we’ll say it again- Amanda and Kris really made it a joy to photograph their day.  They are dynamic and fun to be around…besides being truly funny people! They had us laughing on their engagement session and, after their shoot, the laughs continued as we went to dinner with them and joked about the ins-and-outs of planning a wedding (we were only a few months ahead of them in the process of planning our own wedding). True to their contagious personalities, we knew their wedding would be a day of laughs, fun memories, and intimate moments…

…and it really was all that and more!

Here are some of our favorite images from the day.

We love this special moment between Amanda and her father. Emotions and a hug from dad before they walked down the aisle together. LOVE moments like this!  Ivy Weddings - Austin Wedding 27

Amanda and Kris used an old piece of their grandfather’s wood, and then their family helped to decorate it, creating this charming “just married” sign. Truly meaningful and memorable. How cool is that!?   Ivy Weddings - Austin Wedding 28

The fabulous trio from Musical Discovery Ivy Weddings - Austin Wedding 30

One of the smallest and cutest ring bearers we’ve seen…but we may be a little biased because we did his baby pictures when he was tiny, so we’ve been a long-time fan of the little guy! But seriously, how charming is he!?  Ivy Weddings - Austin Wedding 31

After the ceremony, it was unbearably hot outside, so we only had a couple of minutes with the bride and groom, before everyone would get incredibly uncomfortable and start to melt. We worked fast, and our couple did great and they both looked amazing. Thank you, Amanda and Kris, for bearing the heat for these lovely shots!  Ivy Weddings - Austin Wedding 41

There’s a time during every mother/son dance when a mom has a sweet-happy-sad-proud moment with her son (yes, it looks like she experiences all those at once…’tis beautiful). We love that special hug or look that passes between them…it’s one of our favorite moments from every wedding…   Ivy Weddings - Austin Wedding 49

The toasts were heartfelt, emotional and sometimes extremely funny.  Ivy Weddings - Austin Wedding 50

Small story here: As I was looking through my viewfinder preparing to take this shot, it looked like my husband was chasing the limo…loaded down with camera gear and carrying an un-collapsed 10′ light stand. So just to make sure it wasn’t a figment of my imagination, I asked, “Is that Matt running back there!?!!”  Then, fired this shot from inside the limo.. Ivy Weddings - Austin Wedding 54

And at the same milli-second, Matt captured Kris looking back, and happened to catch my flash firing. Both photos, taken at the exact same moment, two totally different perspectives. How crazy is that!? Ivy Weddings - Austin Wedding 55

Amanda and Kris, thank you for sharing your day with us…and for returning the cell phone we lost in your limo! ; ) You guys are the best. We wish you both many years of giddy, happy, crazy love.
