Fort Worth Wedding Photographers: Shawna and Jordan | Thistle Hill Mansion and Reata Restaurant |

The clouds overhead kept getting darker. The wind blew across the lawn of the antique mansion, and with it came the first few drops. Within minutes it had turned to a full rain shower – but that didn’t phase the bride and groom for a moment. The guests headed indoors, where the groom came down the stairs to let them know what he and his bride had decided. They had dreamed of a perfect outdoor wedding under the open Texas sky, and that’s what they would wait for. And with that, they said a prayer, waited a few minutes for the storm to blow through, and they headed outside…

Meet Shawna and Jordan.

As it turns out, they had their outdoor ceremony, and it was one of the most beautiful we have ever seen. Family and friends gathered under umbrellas, watching and smiling as the two tied the knot. At first, rain still fell, but it quickly went away – and by the end of the day, the couple shared their goodbye kiss under a bright blue sky. For the couple who met in Texas, fell in love states apart, and began their engagement from on top of a Tennessee River cliff, it would be the perfect wedding day story.

Shawna started her day getting ready in downtown Fort Worth…

From the bride:

Jordan and I met through his sister Katie, who I had recently met and become friends with at church. Jordan lived out of town and had flown in to spend the holidays with his family. Our paths crossed when he tagged along with Katie to church one night. Jordan and I spent that evening talking and getting to know each other. That next week we had our first date at the shooting range, and I knew this guy would be different!

After a year and a half of dating long distance, I flew to visit Jordan in Chattanooga, TN. He had planned a beautiful, and totally unexpected, proposal on a cliff overlooking the Tennessee River. I was even more surprised when he took me back into town and there waiting for us was an engagement party filled with our family and friends. All of them were in on the surprise and had flown in from all over the world just to celebrate with us! It was a perfect day I will never forget.

Our wedding was planned outdoors and after a week of perfect weather, a torrential downpour started just a few minutes before our ceremony. Jordan and I were both set on keeping our ceremony outdoors, so we waited until the rain slowed down a little and had the ceremony in the rain. By the end of the ceremony, the sun came back out and the rest of the day was perfect. I think the rainy ceremony made our wedding all the more beautiful and memorable. It was the perfect start to the rest of our lives. : )

Dallas Wedding Photographer: Vi and Joseph | Wedding at the Meyerson Symphony Center and Reception at the F.I.G. |

Sometimes love stories start when two people, leading to very similar lives, finally merge their paths. Sometimes two people live in the same city, go to the same school, and take the same classes. And then there is that magical moment when it’s nothing like that at all. That moment where two completely different people, leading two different lives in two different cities, find out that they are perfect for each other. For them, that moment began one evening at a karaoke bar. He was in business, and she was studying journalism, but somehow they connected – and that connection was just the start of their love story.

Meet Vi and Joseph.
Before long, “JoVi” were an inseperable pair. We knew from the time we first met them and heard their story that their love for each other, and their close circle of friends, would mean a celebration of epic proportions. Combine that with their refined taste, and Vi’s keen sense of style, and we knew a stunning wedding was in the works.
The day started with the ladies getting ready at Vi’s house…
The bride’s fabulous Valentino shoes.

Love how Vi helped the flower girls get ready, too.

Once everyone was ready, we headed over to the Meyerson, and Vi’s lovely Romona Keveza gown stole the show.

Vi’s bridesmaids helped her get ready.

A favorite black and white shot.

The bride and her pretty ladies!

How adorable are these bridesmaid’s gifts? Jewelry in mini macaroon cases -love it!

The groom got ready at The Fairmont….

The guys were having a blast rooting for Joseph, complete with their “Team Joe” sweaters.

The day turned out just beautiful at the Meyerson Symphony Center.

Special thanks to Meredith at Significant Events of Texas for a fantastic job coordinating the ceremony and reception!

Luxe Petals did the gorgeous florals…and the colors were awesome.

Vi and Joseph had their reception at the Fashion Industry Gallery…and it was beautiful!

Loving how the bride and groom used their engagement photo…as a guest book/keepsake.

The entrances were awesome!

Bride and groom first dance…

So cool to see how many of Vi and Joseph’s friends and family came to celebrate with them…

The reception games were totally fun…. (love the bride’s reaction when she correctly picked her groom, lol!).

During the reception, the bridal party surprised the bride and groom with a Gangnam Style flash mob dance.

Special thanks to DJ Super T for keeping the party going all night!

Even the kids got into it!

Amazing end to an epic celebration!

We’ll close with the very last shot of the night…the bride and groom were crossing the street to their hotel, and stopped to steal a last kiss…

Vi and Joseph, you guys are amazing!! It was awesome to be a part of such a fun wedding…everyone loves you guys! We wish you both the very best now, and in the future! Stay in touch. : )

Best,

Matt and Ivy

Dallas Wedding Photographer: Alison + William | Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden Wedding |

Sometimes good grades do more than just impress your teachers… It was freshmen year of high school. She had just gotten her report card back when he walked bye and took a peek. As he walked away, leaving her with a compliment, she knew she would never look at him the same way again. Not long after that he found himself falling for her, and the two set out on a journey of what might have been called puppy love. But theirs was different. It was much more than puppy love.

Meet Alison and William.

That first day was over 13 years ago, and Alison and William have been “it” ever since. Their love grew stronger through high school. Their love grew stronger through college. They even both went on to become doctors – her in medicine, him in pharmacy – all while falling deeper in love. The love that started when they were kids in freshman year lasted even through a half decade of long-distance. With tears and joy on their siblings’ faces, the Alison and William tied the knot. The two families that had grown close over the years watched as this couple wrote the final page of their first chapter together – and began a new one, as husband and wife.

We knew there was something special about these two when we met them, and we knew that their day would be incredibly special, too! The morning started with Alison getting ready, and her gown was just perfect.

Special thanks to Barbara Muñoz for lovely makeup.

Love this makeup shot!

Alison’s sisters and bridesmaids were there to help her get ready…

Alison is so lovely ~ a favorite shot from the day!

Matt was with William for some photos of his day.

The guys hanging out. : )

Alison and William had the sweetest first look ~ we loved the emotion in all the moments! Here’s a favorite black and white shot of the bride, right before she went to meet her groom.

William was so enchanted by his stunning bride and her gorgeous gown!

The next two photos were taken at the same moment. One by me and one by Matt.

After the first look, we got to walk around the Arboretum for some shots of the bride and groom. This one is one of our favorites!

Love this shoe shot!

How awesome is this?! Alison and William…. being Alison and William.  love! ; )

The bride and groom’s family joined us for some photos….and I love these two black and whites. The bride walking to her family, and a sweet mother-daughter moment…

The little ring bearer arrived and stole the show with his cuteness!!

The awesome bridal party…

The ceremony was held at sunset inside the Rodriguez Gazebo and it was stunning!

We’ve been to lots of weddings, but the vows at Alison and William’s wedding were some of the most meaningful and emotional we’ve ever heard. I don’t think there was a dry eye there!

Married!!!

The reception was held in the Rosine Hall of the Dallas Arboretum…

Yummy food by Pappas Catering!

The bride and groom had an epic entrance!

The toasts were funny….

…and heartfelt!

The first dance by the bride and groom…

Love this moment during the dance, with the bride’s sisters in the background…

The father-daughter dance.

Mother- son dance…

Alison and William had an amazing reception with their family and friends. How fun is this?!

The dancing was awesome…and the bride and groom led the party!

Possibly my favorite party shot – to one of my fav songs!!

A dance off with the groom…

The night wrapped up with a final dance with just the bride and groom.

The exit to bubbles and cheers!!!

We’ll end with these last two shots..we think it shows just how perfectly magical Alison and William’s night was.

Alison and William, thank you for letting us capture your day : ) It was such an honor to be a part of such an awesome celebration! We are so happy to have met new friends in you guys – thank you for treating to sushi and laughs – and for being so gracious. It’s been amazing knowing you both, and meeting your sweet families! We wish you guys every bit of joy and happiness in the future….and do keep in touch!

Best Wishes,

Matt and Ivy

From Alison, the bride:

We first met 13 years ago during our freshman year of high school- William saw my report card and said “wow, you’re smart” and from that moment on I was super into him! Eventually he became super into me too (I’m a persistent girl) and we have been happy together since- through 5 years of long distance, lots and lots of school, and an engagement on our 10 year anniversary :0)

For the wedding, the most important things were to have good food and good music (and good photographers to capture the fun and happiness), since all our closest family and friends love to eat and we love to dance! I’d like to think we were successful in accomplishing that- we got rave reviews on the prime rib and our feet hurt from dancing all night to our customized playlist (I’m pretty sure I danced so hard I actually fell on the ground at one point, which was actually pretty funny!). It was all so fast and wonderful and even though I hate a lot of wedding planning type things I’d do it all again in a heartbeat because it was one of the very best days of my entire life :0)

Dallas Wedding Photographers: Abigail + Armando | Aristide Wedding Mansfield |

It was a quiet October evening like any other… only it wasn’t. He was leading his church in their Wednesday night service. She lived hundreds of miles away, but happened to be traveling to Houston that week. When a friend invited her to head over and visit the church that night, she had no idea that she was about to begin the rest of her life. And he had no idea he was about to start falling in love…
Meet Abigail and Armando.
After that first night that they met, neither one of them knew how their love story would grow. They still lived in cities hundreds of miles apart, so they kept in touch via Facebook. Then their churches both started working on a project for their youth groups, and that’s when the emails started. Not long after that, the text messages and long phone calls came, and before they knew it, they had fallen in love. A little over a year after they had met, one night during Thanksgiving week, Armando took Abigail out for a carriage ride in the chilly night air, armed with a ring and a question. If you ask Armando, he might tell you it was the best Thanksgiving week ever – because Abigail said yes. : )
The wedding day started at Aristide, and Abby’s Casablanca wedding gown was gorgeous.
Love this shoe shot….

Abby glowed all day!

Special thanks to Jenny Torry for fabulous makeup!

The ladies all helped each other get ready…even down to the youngest ones! : )

The bride’s mom, and bridesmaids, were there to help her get dressed.

Such a sweet moment with Abby’s mom!

Love this photo…the bride and all her little ladies! : )

A prayer with the bride before the ceremony.

Abby looked amazing in her gown!

How stunning is this?!

Amalia did an amazing job with the flowers!

Matt was with the guys for some shots of them hanging out.

The young guys were in on the card playing too ; )

A favorite ring shot.

Armando looking sharp in his tux…

A prayer for the groom before the ceremony.

Abigail and Armando were married under a canopy and their ceremony was beautiful.

LOVE the groom’s emotional reaction to seeing his pretty bride!

It’s always cute when you’re trying to get a photo and the ring bearer sees you :  )

The rings…

The bride and groom’s family’s came up and prayed for them. It was so beautiful!

The kiss!!

As a surprise, a Mariachi band escorted the couple out during their exit.

These moments right after they were married, are some of our favorites!

Everyone was so happy for them – How cute is this?!

A favorite.

Another favorite! : )

There was a candy bar at the reception…

Special thanks to The Cake Guys for a gorgeous wedding cake!

During the reception, there was a special surprise. The bridal party surrounded the couple for a magical outdoor dance… just the two of them.

The dance ended with the couple surrounded by pretty sparklers…

And a kiss. : )

During the reception, the groomsmen “kidnapped” the bride….

They collected a “ransom” for her return and everyone loved welcoming her back! : )

Mr. & Mrs. –  An epic exit!

Abby and Armando,

Thank you for letting us be a part of your wedding day! From the beginning to the last moment of the evening, it was absolutely beautiful. We wish you both all the happiness in the world, as you start your new life together! Blessings and peace,

Matt and Ivy

From the Bride, Abby:
Back in October 2010, I was traveling in Houston for a week when I got a phone call to go visit a friend’s church for their Wednesday night service. I knew nothing about the church or the pastor BUT that he was single. (Although–I did not go there just to meet him). When I walked in the doors, there he was was….singing praises to God, my Mando. After service, we finally met and had some coffee and sweet bread at their fellowship hall. Being the jokester that he is, Mando offered to take me back to my hotel in his motorcycle! Me, being a lady, politely declined:) After meeting him, we became friends on Facebook and that’s when his Facebook stalking became noticeable. I noticed that he was ALWAYS commenting on my statuses (instantly), places, etc.. :)  Soon after, we started corresponding a lot through email for a youth camp we were planning in the summer for both of our churches. Emails became text messages. Text Messages became long phone calls and finally….long phone calls became love <3
When camp finally rolled around, we knew were wanted to be together and that God was doing something within us. After praying about it for a couple of weeks and talking to my parents, Mando officially asked my parents to ‘court’ me. He told them his true intentions and that he wanted to marry me one day. Then on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, on a cold night filled with dinner and a white carraige in downtown Ft Worth, Mando got down on his knees and asked me to be his wife! It was the sweetest proposal : )

From the Groom, Armando:
The first time I met Abby was at my church in October of 2010. I had heard so much about her, that she was a great women of God, she was sweet, she was faithful in the ministry, she was smart, she was pretty and of course the most important thing….that she could cook! When she walked into my church that day in October, deep inside I knew that there was something there. After service I spent some time with her just talking about the church and showing her around. I didn’t think anything was going to come out of that first encounter, so I tried not to think about it. But a couple of months later we began to communicate because of an event our churches were collaborating on. That’s when I knew that there was something there. This girl had the Hots for Me! LOL
Our relationship started on the phone. When we would talk it was all about ministry, but I could tell that there was something more there. I’ve never been the type of guy to pursue a woman but this was different. I began to pray and ask God to reveal to me if this was of Him. It didn’t take long before I knew that God had sent Abby into my life for a reason. We had fallen in love and hadn’t even been on a date yet. I asked her to pray about us. So she prayed and I prayed. Not too long after that I found myself driving to Dallas to take her to dinner. After that first date, I knew that she was the one that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. She was Special. She was the one I had been patiently waiting for. She was made just for me. So I asked her to Marry Me, and guess what? Yeap you guessed it, She said YES! That may not seem like a big deal but you see, the thing is that, I had given up on finding a wife. I had really come to terms with the thought that maybe God wanted me to remain single for the rest of my life, and I was okay with that. God has always been first in my life and if it was Gods Will for me not to get married, then that was fine with me. So I didn’t expect Abby. I had my eyes on Jesus and He had His eyes on Abby, and that’s how I saw her. I saw her because He saw her. She’s the apple of His Eye, and that’s why she’s the Fruit of My Heart!
I Love You Abby.
