The clouds overhead kept getting darker. The wind blew across the lawn of the antique mansion, and with it came the first few drops. Within minutes it had turned to a full rain shower – but that didn’t phase the bride and groom for a moment. The guests headed indoors, where the groom came down the stairs to let them know what he and his bride had decided. They had dreamed of a perfect outdoor wedding under the open Texas sky, and that’s what they would wait for. And with that, they said a prayer, waited a few minutes for the storm to blow through, and they headed outside…
Meet Shawna and Jordan.
As it turns out, they had their outdoor ceremony, and it was one of the most beautiful we have ever seen. Family and friends gathered under umbrellas, watching and smiling as the two tied the knot. At first, rain still fell, but it quickly went away – and by the end of the day, the couple shared their goodbye kiss under a bright blue sky. For the couple who met in Texas, fell in love states apart, and began their engagement from on top of a Tennessee River cliff, it would be the perfect wedding day story.
Shawna started her day getting ready in downtown Fort Worth…
How cute are her “something blue” shoes?
The bride helped her bridesmaids get ready also.
Shawna’s mom and sister were there to help her get ready.
Love this getting ready shot.
The ladies said a prayer for the day, the weather, and the bride and groom…
How gorgeous is Shawna in her Maggie Sottero gown?! Love this photo!
Special thanks to The Blooming Bride for beautiful florals.
A favorite bride & bridesmaids shot. Shawna and her ladies rocked it! : )
Matt was with Jordan for some shots of him getting ready…
The guys…with a tribute to Chuck Norris. : )
Jordan looking sharp in his tux and bowtie.
After the bride and groom were ready, they had a first look. It’s awesome when couples opt for a first look, and get to have time for just the two of them…
Oh my goodness. It’s every girl’s dream to have her groom react like this when he sees his pretty bride!
So sweet! Jordan couldn’t take his eyes off Shawna and her stunning dress.
…And her blue shoes! Loving the moment he discovered them. : )
A favorite! You guys are too cute!
Another favorite.
The bride checking the weather, and the guests waiting indoors, while a prayer was said for sunshine and a beautiful day.
Everyone headed outdoors for the start of the ceremony. Rain or shine. : )
Shawna glowed!
It was a gorgeous wedding ceremony!
Married…love the kiss on the exit!!!
The reception took place on the rooftop of Reata Restaurant in Fort Worth.
The vintage floral table toppers were adorable!
The “Sweets” candy table was a big hit!
Mini apple and pecan pies…love!
The first dance…
The toasts were touching…
…and funny. : )
Even the little ones got in on the dancing!
We got to steal away the couple for some shots on the rooftop.
Love it!
A grand exit to bubbles!!
One last photo, right before Shawna and Jordan drove off…a beautiful ending to a gorgeous day.

It was absolutely gorgeous and you all deserved it. We have enjoyed getting to know y’all, and can’t wait to hear where the future takes you! Best wishes for many many years of happiness together! : )
Cheers!

From the bride:
Jordan and I met through his sister Katie, who I had recently met and become friends with at church. Jordan lived out of town and had flown in to spend the holidays with his family. Our paths crossed when he tagged along with Katie to church one night. Jordan and I spent that evening talking and getting to know each other. That next week we had our first date at the shooting range, and I knew this guy would be different!
After a year and a half of dating long distance, I flew to visit Jordan in Chattanooga, TN. He had planned a beautiful, and totally unexpected, proposal on a cliff overlooking the Tennessee River. I was even more surprised when he took me back into town and there waiting for us was an engagement party filled with our family and friends. All of them were in on the surprise and had flown in from all over the world just to celebrate with us! It was a perfect day I will never forget.
Our wedding was planned outdoors and after a week of perfect weather, a torrential downpour started just a few minutes before our ceremony. Jordan and I were both set on keeping our ceremony outdoors, so we waited until the rain slowed down a little and had the ceremony in the rain. By the end of the ceremony, the sun came back out and the rest of the day was perfect. I think the rainy ceremony made our wedding all the more beautiful and memorable. It was the perfect start to the rest of our lives. : )
